REVIEW: Ted Lasso – Season 4 Premiere on Apple TV

Coach Lasso is back!

That’s right, after wrapping up his time coaching on the pitch, our kindhearted Ted (Jason Sudeikis)returned to Kansas City, and said goodbye. Yet Apple TV wasn’t done with Ted Lasso and brought the team back to the screen with a brand new season!

The premiere episode delightfully balances Ted Lasso‘s beloved quips with heart-filled moments, and a hint of sports. Reuniting with Ted is boss-babe Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham), her bestie Keely (Juno Temple), and their loyal support-staff Higgens (Jeremy Swift), who travel to he US to offer him a job coaching their new women’s team.

While the first episode revealed what Ted’s been up to, it mainly felt like a nice way to set the pace for the new season without overwhelming audiences with too many beloved character cameos — that said, it feels safe to assume that all our favorites will appear in reasonable and natural ways throughout the season.

The season premiere even included a bit of football, but just enough to remind you that it’s a major part of the series and to expect more time on the pitch.

What did you think of the season premiere? Are you looking forward to more Ted and company?
