The criminal magician do gooders are back in Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, and they’re bringing along a new generation of illusionists. Now You See Me: Now You Don’t reunites the original four horsemen — Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, and Isla Fisher — with a trio of new-blood played by Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt, to join forces against the evil Veronika Vanderberg (Rosamund Pike).
As a fan of the original two films, and a genuine lover of heist movies, I had my hopes set high on this new installment. I can honestly say, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t did not disappoint! Not only did we get a fresh look at the world with young, new characters, but we didn’t just charge into a modern twist, abandoning the mythology introduced in the previous films. While audiences may be smarter and less susceptible to these tricks, knowing the twist in no way detracted from the enjoyment of this journey from director Ruben Fleischer.
Now You See Me: Now You Don’t delivered a fantastic third movie in the franchise, built upon its own history — as well as the real world’s — and left me eager for the fourth film… whenever that may be.
Now You See Me: Now You Don’t hits theaters November 14th.
