REVIEW: The Voice – Season 13 Episode 5 "Blind Auditions – Part 5"

We’re almost done with The Voice auditions for season 13 and here’s how part 5 went down:

Chloe Kohanski (23 – Juliet, Tennessee)

“The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac

Team: Miley

Olivia Kay (13 – Edmond, Oklahoma)
“Ghost” by Ella Henderson

Team: PASSED

Dennis Drummond (27 – Nashville, Tennessee)

“She Talks to Angels” by The Black Crowes [watch the clip below]

Team: Blake

Yael’s Notes: A very special rendition of this song, that’s for sure. That voice was not what I expected to come out of such a tall and lanky body.

Rebecca Brunner (22 – Mason, Michigan)

“Believer” by Imagine Dragons

Team: Blake

Ignatius Carmouche (22 – Opelousas, Louisiana)
“Latch” by Sam Smith
Team: Jennifer

Yael’s Notes: Ignatius won Season 12’s Snapchat Voice competition!

Brandon Brown (19 – Bronx, New York)

“Georgia on My Mind” by Ray Charles

Team: Adam

Nathan Graham (27 – Chicago, Illinois)
“Nobody to Blame” by Chris Stapleton

Team: PASSED

Illiana Viramontes (18 – Brentwood, California)

“New Soul” by Yael Naim

Team: Miley

Yael’s Notes: Not one of my favorite performances of the night, might even say least impressive judge selected performance of the season so far – and not just because I’m not a fan of the song. That said, I think that Miley will be a great mentor and can turn this girl into a “new soul” (get it?)

Whitney Fenimore (28 – Tulsa, Oklahoma)
“Hold on We’re Going Home” by Drake ft. Majid Jordan

Team: Adam

Meagan McNeal (31 – Chicago, Illinois)

“Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd [watch the clip below]

Team: Jennifer

Yael’s Notes: Seriously one of the strongest performances of the night! Can’t wait to see how she does on Team J-Hud.

Jon Mero (31 – Atlanta, Georgia)

“Versace on the Floor” by Bruno Mars

Team: Adam

Team Miley also added, Katrina Rose, 34, who sang Janis Joplin’s “Kozmic Blues.”

Team Blake added Natalie Stovall, 35, who sang The SteelDrivers’ “If It Hadn’t Been for Love,” along with Ryan Scripps, 24, who sang Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road.”
