Tim Gunn released his Christmas wish-list to the New York Post, and filling the number 2 spot is his wish for a plus size model season of Project Runway. It seems the vocal supporter of size inclusion isn’t about to back down now.

Unfortunately, Gunn’s view of the Plus Size fashion industry may not speak to the Plus Size community.
Albeit, he is right on the money when he points out that the industry doesn’t provide enough support or opportunity for Plus Size customers. Gunn has no problem dictating what he believes is appropriate for Plus Size women to wear. According to Yahoo! Style, Gunn opening admits his feelings towards Project Runway winner Ashely Nell Tipton’s final collection, saying, “‘I wouldn’t dream of letting any woman, whether she’s a size 6 or a 16, wear them.'”
He goes on to say, “Gunn felt that her victory was not warranted and her designs did not bring the plus-size industry any justice. “Her victory reeked of tokenism,” he wrote. ‘One judge told me that she was ‘voting for the symbol’ and that these were clothes for a certain population.’”
Tim Gunn’s intentions seem to be good, and a plus size season of Project Runway would be great – as would a plus size season of ANTM – but before we rework the Reality TV World, let’s get the real world on our side.
What do you think? Would you watch a Plus Size season of Project Runway?
