With some many dreaming of coming to Hollywood and becoming the next Jennifer Lawrence or Will Smith, it’s a wonder a show like this took so long to exist. Cast Me! is the latest TV venture into discovering new talent. We’ve got The Voice, America’s Next Top Model, Master Chef, Project Runway, Last Comic Standing, etc., but audiences haven’t yet seen what the audition process looks like for actors.
As reported in The Hollywood Reporter, Cast Me! will air on Myx TV, a cable network targeting Asian Americans, and “will give audiences a chance to see actors strive for their big break.” says Miguel Santos, general manager of Myx TV.
How does it work? Aspiring actors are presented an opportunity to shine in front of casting directors in attempts to win a role in commercials, movies, or music videos. These casting directors include DK Casting co-owners David Kang and Becky Wu, former Latino child star German Legarreta, and the always opinionated, sassy-Aussie, Ajay Rochester (former host of The Biggest Loser Australia).
Knowing where each of these casting directors come from and where their priorities lie will guarantee the type of drama audiences love to see in reality tv. Based on clips and show promos available online, you can be sure that every 30-minute episode will be packed with hilarity, clashing personalities, egos, and a little bit of heart.
Don’t miss Cast Me! when it premieres Tuesday, September 27th on MyxTV, and watch the official promo below
