Now if you are not familiar with the show, you need to add it to your watch list. It is from creator Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey) but set in the United States during the early 1880s. With the rapid advancements of technology, there is more mobility between the classes, and the bigger clash is between the old money and new money. The other thing that sets this show apart is how it includes the Black aristocracy (Black elite) which is part of American history, but rarely featured in media. If you are looking for a period piece drama with fantastic actors, stunning costumes, and featuring American history, you should watch Gilded Age on HBO. You have a couple months to catch up before the new season.
