Wow, what a lovely story, when it’s all said and done.
This author expertly unravels a tear-jerking tale in a way that allows readers to feel Bree’s trauma. While I didn’t read Liv’s story, I didn’t feel like I necessarily needed to to understand Bree’s journey in The Road Less Traveled By. Vince is wonderful and honestly, as sad as I found this book, it’s ultimately a story of hope. Finding your support system, your chosen family, and persevering.
As for the spice, it’s on the light side and the burn is understandably slow, but there is some spice.
About:
All Bree Hart does every day when she wakes up is try. With her stalker out of jail and hunting her down, she’s trying to put on a brave face. And even when she’s forced into a fake relationship to help a Hollywood playboy’s image, she nods and goes along with it. But behind closed doors, she’s falling apart. And the only person she feels safe with is her old bodyguard, who’s back to protect her like he promised.
Vince Evans has always lived his life by his own rules. He jumps from case to case, never attaching himself to clients. But when Bree needs him again, he hands his current one off to someone else, and rushes back to Pennsylvania. Vince will do anything to protect her, and Bree will try as hard as she can not to make anyone worry. But as threats loom over her head, even he might not be able to save her this time.
