Last week, members of the press, along with some celebrities, were invited to a virtual event, in celebration of tomorrow’s Big Sky premiere on ABC. While many promotional events have become drive in experiences, this premiere was creatively unique and allowed media to enjoy it from the comfort of their own homes.
The virtual premiere provided home-delivered special “Country Crate Meals” in a rustic style metal crate filled with country dinner staples like tri tip sandwiches, chili, cornbread with honey butter, and huckleberry fry pie, as well as local Montana treats, including a Montana state baseball cap and a Yellowstone candle — plus a pine-needle tree to plant at home!
These delicious treats could be enjoyed during the pre-party experience which welcomed guests, virtually, to a replica of a bar in the pilot. Through a chat room guests could talk amongst themselves, or with our on-screen host as he told viewers all about the town of Big Sky, Montana. Celebrities like Lena Waithe, Mayim Bialik, Lance Bass, Brooke Shields, Fortune Feimster, Yvette Nicole Brown, Danica McKellar, and more, were in attendance but, as a remote event not via Zoom, they were able to enjoy the event without distracting attention. Every guest was welcome to participate in the event as much, or as little, as they felt comfortable with.
The playful pre-party was put together by event producers, Little Cinema. In addition to building a full, physical recreation of the bar, and filled it with easter eggs from the show, they populated it with two performers set in the “Big Sky” world, one to chat with the audience and the other treated guests to a live musical performance of some of the iconic songs from the show, including a cover of Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Are Made for Walking.”
Following the screening of the first episode, stars Ryan Phillippe, Katheryn Winnick, and Kylie Bunbury participated in a Q&A about production, working with David E. Kelley, and more, which was moderated by Angelique Jackson.
Genuinely an unparalleled premiere which excited many media to check out the show for sure. Watch the trailer for Big Sky here.
