While promoting Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist at the NBC Winter TCA Press tour, Peter Gallagher confirmed that he’d love to return to Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. When asked if there’s a chance, he said “I hope so!”
Speaking briefly to FANVERSATION he talked about how much he enjoyed playing Chief Dodds, and expressed his love and respect for Showrunner Warren Leight. Gallagher mentioned that Dodds’ banishment in the season premiere left the door open for his return; noting that unlike his son, the late Sgt Dodds, the Deputy Chief was reassigned to ‘Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Task Force on Staten Island’ and not killed off.
