REVIEW: Star Wars – The Rise of Skywalker

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is entertaining, enjoyable, and fun. The entire Skywalker saga has led up to this film, and while many hardcore fans consider it a let down, a general audience member who might not be caught up in the Star Wars hype will enjoy watching this film from opening battle to obvious last line.

Every actor in this piece did their best and the movie was as always visually stunning. There were plenty of Easter Eggs that either you understood or you didn’t, but nothing in this movie would make a novice feel unwelcome. While I do encourage a rewatch of at least The Last Jedi, it’s not completely necessary.

The highlights include the humor and working around the late Carrie Fisher while allowing her to be such a big part of the plot. Additionally, I appreciated that nothing in the story negated the truth behind Finn and Poe’s relationship. Speaking of ships, there’s one that I know many fans were supporting and they’ll be happy but I almost audibly groaned. \

If you like Star Wars, but aren’t really a “Star Wars fan” then you’ll enjoy the movie. I don’t know how you’ll feel if you’re a “Star Wars fan”.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters this weekend.
