REVIEW: Spider-man: Far From Home

After such heavy, and heartbreaking films like Infinity War and Endgame wrapped up the journey of our beloved Avengers, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returned to high school and his role as the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man.

Spider-man: Far From Home hilariously and elegantly explains many unanswered questions about ‘the snap’ and the un-snap. Once these logistics are out of the way, the story really begins. This action-packed rom-com superhero film has everything you want. There’s so much heart, allowing Peter to really deal with the loss of a friend and mentor. There’s a great balance of goofy yet grounded humor, and of course audiences are given the requisite Peter and MJ love-story.

While it feels like we’ve already had a ton of live-action Spider-man movies, it’s refreshing to watch one which allows Peter embrace his awkward teenager years rather than instantly aging him out of high school. Let’s get to know him as this guy before he becomes a photographer.

Spider-man: Far From Home swings into theaters July 2nd.
