REVIEW: Mary Queen of Scots – Starring Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie

Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie are exquisite in the period drama Mary Queen of Scots which tells the story of Mary Stuart, her return to the throne of Scotland and her attempt to threatened the legitimacy of England’s Queen Elizabeth.

Supported by a great cast, and beautiful costuming, these women tell the compelling story of two Queens, surrounded by power hungry men, and the politics that unfolded. While set in the 1500s, the story is more relevant than ever, showing how often women in power are torn down by the insecurities of their council.

Although considered a period piece, Mary Queen of Scots is a fascinating watch for anyone who enjoys a political drama. If House of Cards is your jam, then Mary Queen of Scots might quench that thirst.
