FIRST LOOK: Midnight, Texas – Season 2 – Summer TCA 2018

Midnight, Texas Showrunners Eric Charmelo & Nicole Snyder took the stage at the NBC Summer TCA tour to discuss the upcoming second season. Here are some things we learned:

Charmelo and Snyder, who were involved in the first season as consultants, were asked to take over for season 2 after Monica Breen decided to leave to explore other opportunities (hint Buffy hint). After season one explored all three books the series is based on, the new season of nine episodes over the course of eight weeks, picks up two months after the season finale.

Season two explores a new mysterious hotel that was introduced in the books, but the showrunners have taken the story somewhere knew. Deadline previously reported “Nestor Carbonell and Jaime Ray Newman will recur as Kai and Patience Lucero, respectively, the owners of Midnight’s new hotel.”

Another newcomer is UnREAL alum Josh Kelly who will play Walker Chisum, a “gay cowboy demon hunter”. Charmelo specified that he’s not hunting gay cowboy demons. He is the gay cowboy who hunts demons.

Midnight, Texas returns to NBC on Halloween.
