The highly anticipated rom-com, Crazy Rich Asians, based on Kevin Kwan’s novel of the same name, has been making headlines since the casting announcements began. The trailer was released on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she pointed out the movie is the first big-screen release in over twenty years featuring an Asian-majority cast – and isn’t a period piece. Fresh Off the Boat’s Constance Wu stars as Rachel Chu alongside Henry Golding who plays her boyfriend, Nick Young. Additional cast includes Michelle Yeoh as the Young matriarch, Eleanor, and features Awkwafina as Rachel’s hilarious BFF, Peik Lin.
