If you’re sick of superhero movies, then you’re wrong! Marvel has done it again with the latest chapter of their MCU.
Based on the comic story, Civil War gives us a taste of what happens when Captain America must go against his Avengers teammate, Iron Man (which you should know by now if you’ve been on the internet in the last 4 months). Each of the leading men disagrees on policy and, with their “you’re either with me or against me” mentality, they assemble their own teams – which brings us our new friends: the super badass Black Panther and the adorkably fun Spider-Man.
Many reviews have stated that Civil War is one of the best movies in the MCU, while I’m not ready to label anything as the “best,” I will say this movie is definitely great – the fights are big, suspenseful, and exciting to watch. The jokes are hilarious and perfectly timed to ease tension,
and there’s even a lot of heart in there. This two hour movie does not feel like a two hour movie.
If you want a couple of flaws, I’d say that as realistic as the philosophical debate was throughout the movie, our mysterious villain was kind of a letdown. Although, personally, I didn’t feel that it detracted anything from the movie. My biggest complaint is the lack of females! Pepper Potts was explained away, and then each side was given one female because, well, that’s all they’ve got.
Captain America: Civil War is now playing, check out the trailer below.
