Do you claim any fondness for any of the following?

  • English history
  • Traditional English culture (think Shakespeare, Austen, Johnson, Gilbert and Sullivan)
  • British monarchy
  • English system of government and bureaucracy
  • English actors, films, TV shows, radio programmes, musicians, books, magazines, fashion, cars, or subculture

Do you prefer English spellings over American spellings?

Do English phrases make their way into your speech?

Do you find yourself attracted towards English people and their accents?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above, then CONGRATULATIONS! You are an anglophile! Welcome to the club. Sure we may be a bit brash when we’ve kicked back one too many pints (is there such a thing??!??) at the local pub, or when the football team (yes, there’s a difference between American football and proper football) can’t seem to score a goal, but no one can deny we have heart.

This blog will be dedicated to all things British. The majority will be focused on entertainment news (and even further focused on my personal favorite actors Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch), but I will strive to at least briefly cover many other realms of my favorite Realm.

So make yourself a cuppa, and I’ll see you next time.

God save the Queen.
