INTERVIEW: ‘Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’ Premiere

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle had its Los Angeles dub premiere at the historic TLC Chinese Theatre in Hollywood Tuesday, September 9th. Having an anime premiere take over Hollywood Blvd, like huge blockbuster premieres and awards shows, was wonderfully overwhelming for the actors and guests in attendance. Access to anime has propelled it and made it more mainstream. Long gone are the days of borrowing VHS copies from your friends at school or going to now pretty much extinct video stores like Suncoast.

We spoke with the cast and guests about what it means to be celebrating anime on this scale, what would their character wear for Halloween, and more!

Zach Aguilar – English voice of Tanjiro Kamado

Natuski Hanae – Japanese voice of Tajiro Kamado

Aleks Le – English voice of Zenitsu Agatsu

Johnny Yong Bosch – English voice of Giyu Tomioka

Erika Harlacher-Stone – English voice of Shinobu Kocho

This film is the first of the three-part trilogy that will bring the Demon Slayer saga to its epic conclusion. It starts off right where we last left off at the end of season 4 (Hashira Training Arc) which came out back in June 2024. Don’t worry, no spoilers here. There is not much recap so if you are new to the franchise, the back stories and full motivation of the characters might be lost on you. For those of us who have been waiting for this next installment we do get some new backstories on a few characters. The film is stunning on IMAX, and watching it with fellow anime fans adds to the energetic vibes! As with any movie that is only part one, it obviously does not wrap everything up and not all characters get their chance to shine. If you are a Demon Slayer fan you will want to see the thrilling action and gorgeous animation on the big screen, though we will have to wait until next year for part two, but hey, it will be here before we know it.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle comes to theaters September 12th. For more information: https://demonslayer-anime.com/

If you want to catch up or need a refresher, the series is available on multiple streaming platforms.
