Night 3 of The Voice Battles took place and this is how the night went down:
Jennifer & Kelly Rowland
Shi’Ann Jones vs. Stephan Marcellus
“Oh! Darling” by The Beatles
Winner: Shi’Ann Jones
Steal: Stephan Marcellus to Team Miley
Yael’s Notes: This battle was fierce! Both these voices had great range and made you feel the emotion of the song. But in the end, Jennifer took her mini me, and then Stephan got a second chance. Again.
Miley & Billy Ray Cyrus
Addison Agen vs. Karli Webster
“Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper
Winner: Karli Webster
Steal: Addison Agen to Team Adam
Yael’s Notes: This was the WEIRDEST version of this song that I’ve ever heard, but it worked for these ladies. Their voices were so haunting that I’d believe this was how the song was meant to be sung – as a depressing ballad.
Plus the DOUBLE STEAL!
Janice Freeman vs. Katrina Rose
“W.O.M.A.N.” by Etta James
Winner: Janice Freeman
Steal: Katrina Rose to Team Jennifer
Yael’s Notes: Sweet Woman! That was a powerhouse performance. Both voices were so different, and I loved them both for different reasons. I’m so glad that neither singer is going home, but I’m also glad that Jennifer took Katrina because she will definitely know how to work with her sound.
Blake & Rascal Flats
Red Marlow vs. Ryan Scripps
“Fishin’ In the Dark” by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
Winner: Red Marlow
Adam & Joe Jonas
Brandon Brown vs. Jon Mero
“I Wish It Would Rain” by The Temptations
Winner: Joe Mero
Yael’s Notes: one of the most boring performances of the season. I would’ve been fine with neither one winning.
Anthony Alexander vs. Michael Kight
“I Feel It Coming” by The Weeknd ft. Daft Punk
Winner: Anthony Alexander
Montage Battles – winner is underlined
Team Blake – Anna Catherine DeHart vs Kristi Hoopes
Team Jennifer – Jeremiah Miller vs Alexandra Joyce
Team Adam – Emily Luther vs Gary Carpetniere
