The CW Renews (Nearly) Everything – Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and MORE!

The CW has announced early pickups for 7 fall series: the 4 DC shows (Arrow (Season 6), The Flash (Season 4), DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (Season 3) and Supergirl (Season 3)), plus Supernatural is going on Season 13. Both comedies, Jane the Virgin & Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which have brought the CW its first major awards recognition with Golden Globe for stars Rachel Bloom and Gina Rodriguez, are returning for season 4 and season 3, respectively.

CW chief Mark Pedowitz defended his pick-up of the surprisingly low-rated Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, “When you have great critical work on a critically acclaimed nominated show like Crazy, it deserves to be picked up,” noting that the show “alter the perception of what The CW has become.” He added, “Critically acclaimed, great programming — sometimes you just leave it on the air and hopefully it finds an audience …. I’m hoping that happens and if it doesn’t, I’ll have no regrets about renewing the series.”

As for the rest of The CW, The Vampire Diaries is in it’s final season, but there’s no word yet on the mid-season selection: The Originals, The 100, iZombie and the new drama Riverdale. Also in limbo are new shows No Tomorrow and Frequency
