ABC’s Once Upon A Time returns and with all the mysteries still left unsolved, I for one couldn’t be happier. If you haven’t seen “Lacey” then read no further and consider this your official SPOILER ALERT!
The majority of the episode seemed to revolve around Mr. Gold – internally he’s dealing with the prophecy, but also hoping to recover Belle’s memory. Using magic, Regina creates an altered history for Belle, convincing her that she used to slut it up in a sleazy bar… or as Gold put it, she’s now “a scantily clad bar fly named Lacey.”
Realizing that the only way to save her is ‘True Loves Kiss’… Gold understands that he must win her heart again. So what does Gold do? He seeks advice from Charming (aka David). Attempting to “show her the man she fell in love with,” Gold takes Lacey on a date, but she bails before it’s over and he must face the fact that Lacey is not Belle… Which turns out to be a good thing, because, turns out, Lacey likes the dark side of Gold.
In the flashbacks we see more of the Beauty & The Beast/ Belle & Rumpelstiltskin story. Robin Hood is introduced as a wand thief in Rumpel’s castle. After being captured and tortured, Belle helps RH escape only to be forced to accompany Rumpel on his quest to murder RH. Rumpel and Belle discover that the wand RH was trying to steal was in fact to save the life of a prenant and ill Maid Marian. Belle convinces Rumpel to spare him and in return her gives her a library.
Meanwhile in Storybrooke, Snow & Charming reveal to Emma the magic bean farm they’ve set up. Unfortunately, a suspicious Regina find it. Plus, Greg & Tamara bring Hook back into town to do their dirty work… whatever that means. What do you think of
the new Belle Lacey? Will Gold be even worse than before, now that he’s trying to impress a girl? Leave your thoughts in the comments and don’t miss all new episodes of OUAT, Sundays on ABC.
